On the 7th March, as part of celebrating International Women's Day, I was invited by the Prince's Trust to attend the Wonderful Women Leader's Lunch hosted by the wonderful Fox and Vamp and Gallello Atelier.
As a woman in business running services all across Lincolnshire, there are many challenges and barriers to success that I have to overcome on a daily basis that often people don't necessarily see. As a working mum and mother, this comes with the additional pressure of managing childcare around my business responsibilities and adopting a positive work culture that takes in the flexibility of my staff's needs. In some ways, being a woman in business is a fantastic asset, as I understand from my own life experience the crucial role that flexible working plays when we're balancing our work and personal life so we can meet both needs without sacrificing our health and wellbeing.
I started my business after managing an illness and being a new mum which is an incredibly difficult and challenging thing to do. I am so proud of how far I've come with my team and I'm even more inspired to hear the success stories of likeminded women who have overcome their own significant personal challenges to grow the businesses they now have. Charities such as the Prince's Trust play an incredibly vital role in supporting this and it's a privilege to celebrate with them and see the positive impact they have had on businesses all across the country. As a young ambassador for the Prince's Trust, it is incredibly rewarding to know how many people have accessed their support and found their confidence to become the successful entrepreneurs that they are now.
The event itself was absolutely beautiful, it was set in a beautiful green room with complimentary colours of white to compliment it well. I was incredibly thrilled to speak with one of Greece's very own Dragons, Maria Hatzistefanis, who I found fascinating and inspiring to hear her accomplishments and absolute drive for success.
We often see very influential people in the media, business owners, presenters, advocates and campaigners, and easily we can forget that they too started in a room, with an idea and a drive. We are all capable of so much, and women particularly often don't realize their own potential. Ladies, if you are reading this article please know- you have so much to offer the world through your skills, courage, drive and dedication. If you need to hear it today; you can do it, and I am so excited to see you reach your dreams whether personal milestones, business or career milestones. I hope one day I will see you here at a Women Leader's Lunch, inspiring me with your journey to success. Celebrate yourself, and celebrate the women around you. We are women, let's continue to celebrate and hold each other up. We are all capable of so many amazing things.
Happy International Women's Day. Thank you so much to our amazing hosts, and to the Prince's Trust for all of their work and support to help young people and women realize their potential.
