We are absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news that my new charity organisation, Be The Silver Lining has been awarded the Best Social Enterprise at the Grantham Journal Business Awards 2024! This recognition means the world to us, particularly as our journey is still in its early stages.
Be The Silver Lining is a charity that has launched off the back of a winter campaign in my Multiple Award winning care business, Farrow Friends. During this campaign we worked hard to provide 1:1 free befriending services through an outreach post in collaboration with local cafes, to help proactively target loneliness in the community during a time of year where many people are vulnerable. From this, I entered into a competition with Nescafe Azera, and was overjoyed to see my design that focuses on advocating combatting loneliness by connecting over coffee. This has since been the catalyst to an incredible journey to launch my new charity on it's best foot forward- with an ongoing sit-in befriending service starting from February to provide this vital support to community members throughout the year- not just the winter season.
The evening was truly special, filled with inspiring stories and passionate individuals who are making a difference in their fields, whether through community outreach projects, or innovative industries. We were honoured to receive a stunning trophy, presented to us by Matt Lee of PVS Media, the sponsor of our award category.
Winning this award shines a light on the importance of our mission...tackling loneliness within the elderly community. It’s a privilege for myself and my team to be recognised for this work, and this award serves as a wonderful encouragement for our team of volunteers and the individuals we support.
